Go India, go

India has always been famous for its remarkable history and heritage. Now, it can again create history. The temple town of Tirumala is on the verge of being the wealthiest pilgrimage centre in the world. It is ready to take over the Vatican city in terms of the richest pilgrimage centre. The annual turnover of the Vatican city is a bit more than thousand crores and according to the latest statistics, Tirumala temple's turnover for the year 2005 was around 800 crores. And, the temple trust (TTD) has deposits of about 1500 crores.

Evidently, it's already the richest temple in India. Every week, nearly one lakh devotees come to Tirumala for the darshan of Lord Venkateshwara, and it even surpasses that number during vacation time and festivals. So, there should be no uncertainities in presuming that this can be a reality. It's a bit too apparent. Isn't it?

  1. I would think, if u r comparing with vatican - ruppe vs euro comes into picture...for all I know we might have already surpassed it but for the rupee value

  2. sidhu: It's the converted values that I was talking about. Income of the Vatican city in terms of Indian curreny is more than 1000 crores. So, we are just away from it.

  3. I understand, what I mean is a fluctuation in rupee value by 3 INR makes a difference of 850 million.
SO if the dollar value goes down that is, 1 dollar = say 38 INR and we would have crossed the vatican already.
In1995 we were 1$ = 35 INR, just 4 years prior to that we had 1$ = 25 INR, who knows by 2010 we'll go back to those stas, then two things will happen, Tirupathi will be the richest of course and money2India.com will be money4mIndia.com (moneyfromindia.com)
